# Self-hosted installations

> Pointing the SDKs, collectors and agent at a Streamlogia running on your own network.

Everything in these docs uses `https://api.streamlogia.com` as the base URL.
A self-hosted installation has its own API hostname, and every client has to
be told it once.

## SDKs

Set one environment variable where the application runs:

```sh theme={null}
export STREAMLOGIA_API_URL=https://logs-api.corp.example
export STREAMLOGIA_API_KEY=ls_app_live_…        # an ingest key from your installation's API Keys page
export STREAMLOGIA_PROJECT_ID=…
```

All three SDKs read `STREAMLOGIA_API_URL`. In code it is `WithBaseURL(...)`
in Go, `base_url=` in Python and `baseURL` in JavaScript; the code value wins
over the environment.

The key must come from **your** installation: a key from the hosted service
is unknown to it, and a login token expires with the session.

## Private certificate authority

If your installation's certificate is issued by an internal CA:

| Runtime | How to trust it |
| - | - |
| Go | Install the CA on the host (the system store is used), or pass an `*http.Client` through `WithHTTPClient` |
| Python | `STREAMLOGIA_CA_FILE=/etc/ssl/corp-ca.pem`, or `ca_file=` |
| Node.js | `NODE_EXTRA_CA_CERTS=/etc/ssl/corp-ca.pem` |
| curl | `--cacert /etc/ssl/corp-ca.pem` |

## Agent and collectors

The agent installer is served from your installation's installer hostname and
already points at your API:

```sh theme={null}
curl -fsSL https://logs-get.corp.example/install.sh | sudo sh -s -- --key ls_src_live_…
```

Collector configurations shown on the **Sources** page use your API hostname
automatically.

## Status page

`https://logs-api.corp.example/v1/status` is served by your installation and
backs its own status page; it does not depend on the hosted service.
